Appliance repair technician

Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 2026

These Terms of Service apply whenever you book, schedule, or receive appliance repair services from ARNI Services (“we,” “us,” “ARNI”). By booking a visit or letting our technician begin work, you’re agreeing to the terms below.

Who We Are

ARNI Services repairs and installs home appliances, including refrigerators, ovens, cooktops, washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, and ranges, across Toronto and the GTA, including gas appliances serviced by our licensed technicians.

Booking & Arrival Windows

When you book with us, we’ll give you an estimated arrival window rather than an exact time. Real-world factors like traffic, a prior job running long, or technician routing can shift things slightly. We’ll do our best to keep you updated if timing changes.

The Diagnostic Visit

Every repair starts with a technician visiting your home to inspect the appliance and diagnose the problem. This visit has a cost, which reflects the technician’s time and expertise rather than the eventual repair.

If you go ahead with the repair we recommend, that diagnostic cost is applied toward your total repair bill, rather than charged separately. If the issue turns out to be something outside the appliance itself, for example wiring, plumbing, or ventilation, the diagnostic cost still applies, since the visit and assessment still took place.

Quotes

Once we’ve diagnosed the issue, we’ll give you a quote before doing any repair work. Quotes are only valid for a short window after they’re issued, since parts pricing and availability can change. Moving forward with payment of any kind, whether a deposit, parts, or labor, means you’ve accepted that quote and these Terms.

Getting Paid

We ask for payment once the job is finished and you’ve had a chance to confirm the appliance is working properly.

How We Price Repairs

We price jobs based on what the repair actually involves: the diagnosis, the parts needed, and the skill required, rather than billing simply by the hour. This keeps pricing consistent across similar repairs, regardless of how quickly or slowly a particular job goes.

Cancelling or Rescheduling

If your plans change, our [Cancellation Policy] outlines how much notice we need and what applies if that notice isn’t given. Booking with us means you’ve agreed to those terms too.

What We Need From You

A few things help your appointment go smoothly:

  • Someone 18 or older should be home for the visit.
  • Please give our technician space to work.
  • The appliance should be reasonably accessible, clear of clutter, and not blocked by kids or pets during the repair.
  • If the appliance wasn’t installed to manufacturer specifications, we may not be able to safely proceed with the repair.
  • If the technician moves the appliance to access it, please hold off on cleaning behind or around it until the repair is finished. Time spent waiting on cleanup is treated as part of the visit.

We’re not responsible for damage caused by relocating an appliance at your request. If you’d like us to move it, that’s done at your own risk.

One Appliance, One Visit

  • Sticking to what’s booked: If you’d like us to look at an additional appliance beyond what was scheduled, we’re happy to help, but each appliance needs its own proper diagnostic time. Adding something on the spot may mean booking a separate visit, since fitting it in without diagnosing it properly isn’t fair to you or to our other scheduled customers.
  • Unrelated issues found nearby: If while repairing one appliance, our technician notices something wrong with another appliance nearby, that’s treated as a separate diagnosis and quote, not something addressed for free in passing.

A Few Other Things Worth Knowing

  • Utilities during the repair: Our technicians may need to use your home’s power, water, or lighting to properly diagnose and complete the repair. Booking a service with us means this is expected and won’t need separate permission on the day.
  • Weather-related delays: In cases of winter storms, ice, or other unsafe driving conditions, we may need to adjust your scheduled window for the safety of our technicians and other customers. We’ll do our best to keep you updated if this happens.
  • Photos for our records: Our technicians may take before-and-after photos of the appliance for service documentation and quality purposes. Any photos are handled according to our [Privacy Policy].

When a Repair Is “Done”

We consider a job complete once our technician confirms the appliance is functioning and you’ve paid the invoice. We treat that as your confirmation that you’ve tested it and are satisfied. Because of this, refunds aren’t issued after a job has been marked complete.

The Risks Involved in Repair Work

Some appliance repairs carry inherent risk that isn’t the result of anything we did wrong. Specifically:

  • Plumbing connections: Working near existing plumbing connections can occasionally reveal or trigger a leak unrelated to our repair.
  • Pre-existing cooling failures: Appliances with pre-existing cooling failures may not be fixable, and that failure itself isn’t something we caused.
  • Glass cooktops: Glass cooktops sometimes need to be lifted to access parts underneath. This carries a small risk of cracking that isn’t due to technician error.
  • Intermittent electronic faults: Some issues, especially with control boards or electronics, may seem resolved at the time of service but can recur, since intermittent faults aren’t always fully reproducible during a single visit.
  • Rust, corrosion, or brittle parts: On older units, screws or panels can break during normal disassembly due to age and wear, not technician error.
  • Dryer venting: Disconnecting and reconnecting dryer ductwork can reveal pre-existing damage, blockages, or non-standard installation that isn’t part of the original repair.
  • Adjacent worn parts: Opening up an older appliance to fix one issue sometimes reveals other components nearby that are also worn and fail shortly after, unrelated to the repair performed.

We’re not liable for these outcomes unless they result from clear negligence on our part.

Our Liability, In General

If something goes wrong with our service, our responsibility is limited to the amount you paid us for that service. We’re not liable for indirect losses, like time off work or unrelated property damage. This limitation doesn’t apply in cases of proven negligence on our end.

If You Follow Our Advice

Sometimes our technicians offer suggestions about maintenance, a part to watch, or a related issue. If you choose to act on that advice yourself, or hire someone else to, that work isn’t something we’re responsible for.

We Can Decline a Job

We want our technicians treated with basic respect and safety. If that’s not happening, we reserve the right to end or decline service, and the diagnostic visit cost still applies.
