Dishwashers FAQ's
The amount of detergent you need to use depends on whether you have hard or soft water. The harder the water, the more detergent you may need. Adjust the amount of detergent you need by small amounts until you find the correct amount. Your dishwasher will perform best with the hot water temperature at the start of a wash cycle.
Do not use too much detergent. Large amounts of detergent can lead to a difficulty of a dishwasher to dissolve and rinse properly, leaving stains on dishes, and can lead over time to performance problems.
Read the instructions on your detergent’s packaging and your dishwasher. Those guidelines show the correct amount of detergent for the degree of water conditions and are the most accurate representation of the amount of detergent to be used.
When loading the dishwasher, be sure that the detergent dispenser can open freely and that water from the spray arm can reach the open dispenser.
Hearing the water filling in your dishwasher along with water circulating and the motor running is normal. If you notice banging or smashing sounds, make sure there is no dish, pot, pan, or utensil that causes the spray arm to circulate incorrectly. It is normal to hear the fan run during the cycles at different times.
The upper rack is built for a wide range of items, including cups, glasses, stemware, small plates, bowls, etc. Load glasses and plastics objects into the upper rack only. For better cleaning and drainage, load items with an open end facing down. If fragile items touch each other during the cycle of the dishwasher, damage can occur. Put knives with long handles and utensils in the upper rack. Make sure that nothing hangs down from the bottom of the rack to prevent the middle spray arm’s rotation.
For pots, saucers, cups, and cookware, the bottom rack is best. It is important to position large objects along the edge so that they do not interrupt the rotation of the spray arm. Place cups, casseroles, and saucepans with the soiled surface facing down or towards the middle for the best results. For better drainage, tilt slightly. Make sure that spray arm rotation is not blocked by tall objects.
